Holly M. Blythe, 79 of Aledo, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at her home. A celebration of Holly’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 6, at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to services. The family will have a private burial in Candor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Holly Maureen was born on December 11, 1944, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Clifford and Maxine (Lemon) Wagoner. She was a 1962 graduate of Aledo High School. She married William Anderson, later divorcing. On May 29, 1992, Holly and Mark Blythe were married on the #1 tee at Oak View Country Club, Aledo.
Holly retired as the office manager for Chuck Clawson’s Country Companies office in Aledo. She also worked for Stut’s Drug Store for over 20 years, including during high school and then again after her boys started school.
Holly was a people person who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She especially loved time with her class of 1962. Music was a passion of hers, and she knew her tunes. She was a font of knowledge and could name any musician and song. Bob Seger and Kris Kristofferson were among her favorites. She also loved golfing, even getting a hole in one on #4 at Oak View Country Club. Holly and Mark enjoyed being secret Easter Bunnies and leaving eggs for 100s of people each Easter. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading all sorts of novels, including the classics. She and Mark enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises and anywhere that had a beach.
Those left to cherish Holly’s memory include her husband, Mark; sons, Scott Anderson of Goodyear, AZ, and Steve Anderson of Aledo; step-children, Aaron (Kate) Blythe and Ashley Blythe, all of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Brandi (Ashwan) Anderson and Ryan (Corey) Gilliland; step-grandchildren, Izzy, Annie, and Lyla Blythe; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Grayson, and Meena; and brother, Perry (Linda) Wagoner of Denver, Colorado. Holly is also survived by her special niece, Tracie Ferguson, and her nieces, nephews, and in-laws from her first marriage, the families of Dig and Leila Wagner and Jack and Lila Willits. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Brenda Anderson.
The family would like to thank MercyOne Genesis Aledo Medical Center and Genesis Hospice, especially Julia Olson, for the special care given to Holly.
