Linda J. (Adams) Wadsworth, 80 of New Boston, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at The Lamoine Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility in Macomb, IL, where she had resided for over 5 years. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, October 4, at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, IL. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Preemption Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
Linda Jean was born on February 26, 1944, in Moline, IL, to Marvin W. and Dorothy (Snell) Adams. She was united in marriage on September 5, 1964, to Wayne L. Wadsworth at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Wayne preceded her in death on November 7, 1988. Also proceeding her in death were her parents and a brother, Larry D. Adams.
Linda was a 1962 graduate of Sherrard High School. She worked for Bituminous Insurance in Rock Island, IL and Ace Hardware in Viola, IL. Linda and Wayne farmed near Milan and most recently near Aledo. She really enjoyed the farm life. She especially enjoyed her time outdoors raising chickens, ducks, cows and pigs as well as helping with the crops and tending the garden. Cooking and canning for her family was important to her and so was taking care of the many pets she had in her lifetime. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, playing cards, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her children, Cheryl (Darren) Webster of Colchester, IL, and Curt Wadsworth of Aledo, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Ruth) Adams of Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Erica (Cece) Zangara of Dubuque IA, Paige (Douglas) Cicciarelli of Peoria, IL, and Logan Wadsworth of Davenport, IA; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Zangara and another great-grandchild on the way. Also surviving are one niece and one nephew, Eric Adams and Sara (Travis) Kershaw and their children, Evalee, Izzy, and Harper.
