The number of homes for sale in Aledo has more than doubled year over year. Seven homes were for sale in Aledo in August of 2023. Fifteen homes were on the market this August. That number has now jumped to 22. The data was released in a report to Quad City Area Realtors. Aledo Mel Foster Agent Brittney Mills says homes that are not in need of major repairs are selling quickly.
“I’ve been trying to figure out where these sellers are coming from? And, I think that a lot of the homes on the market right now, specifically in Aledo, are elderly people who have maybe gone into assisted living or passed away. And, now their homes are for sale. In the market, I’ve seen some people who’ve relocated out of the area. The lower priced family homes – those are selling really well. Right now, personally, a lot of people that I know that live kind of in the Quad Cities and those big cities, I’m seeing more and more people that are looking for a small town, that still has a lot of amenities to offer. So you’ll hear me say it all the time – that Aledo is where dreams come true. And I really firmly believe that. I think that it is a great place to move to if you’re looking for more of that small town feel, but still being able to go out and do stuff. I love the summer concert series that we have and the new businesses that are coming to town.”
The average selling price for a home in Aledo is $142,750. The numbers show homes in Aledo are staying on the market for fewer days than in 2023. Aledo home sellers are, on average, receiving 96 percent of their homes’ list price.
