James ‘Jim’ L. Hanson – Services 8/31/24

James “Jim” L. Hanson, 65 of Seaton, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Cremation has been accorded and the Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31, at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 30, at Fippinger Funeral Home where memorial contributions may be left to the family. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is in charge of arrangements. Jim was born on November 10, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Max and Ruth Ann Eskew Hanson. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1977 and enjoyed wrestling; he also received various certifications from Black Hawk College. Jim served in the US Navy and retired from The HON Company in Muscatine.

He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Aledo. Jim enjoyed playing in bands with his brother Karl, singing, playing guitar and keyboard, training horses, and shoeing horses. He was passionate about music and was in multiple bands including “The Hanson Brothers” and “The Time Bandits” which performed throughout the western Illinois area.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Cassie, Claire, Cleo, and Cylie; his father, Max Hanson; and one brother, Karl (Staci) Hanson of Seaton. He was preceded in death by his mother.
