Patsy ‘Pat’ M. Swank – Services 6/20/24

Patsy “Pat” M. Swank, 82, of Coal Valley, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Bickford Cottage, Davenport. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at First Christian Church, Keithsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be at Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Pat was born on August 10, 1941, in Muscatine, IA. She married Clark L. Swank on December 28, 1969, at First Baptist Church, Aledo. Pat managed the Maid Rite in Viola, worked for Union Federal Bank, and last worked as a Realtor. She was known for her hard work ethic and putting her heart and soul into everything she did. Pat was a member of Gerlaw Christian Church, Gerlaw, IL. She enjoyed puzzles, bowling, golfing, being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and her flower garden, especially her roses. She and her husband, Clark, got a card club together in Texas and in Coal Valley playing the card game, Hand and Foot. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and all of their family gatherings and parties.

Pat is survived by her husband, Clark L. Swank, Coal Valley; children, Jim (Melody) Jones, Preemption, Kathryn (Dennis) Docherty, New Concord, KY, Clark “Bear” H. Swank, Viola, and Kristi (Dave) Zeitz, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Blaser, Mike (Jamie) Jones, Lindsey (Dale) Watts, Dakota Lafferty, Megan (Joseph) Cardillo, Cass Swank, and Chase Minteer; great grandchildren, Daylen Blaser, Jackson Jones, Kyla Blaser, Javin Jones, Jaren Jones, Braxten Blaser, Jaylee Jones, Brenden Prine, Garrett Prine, Stormy Prine, Finn Lafferty, and Isabelle Minteer; siblings, Harvey Smith, Art E. Mills, Jr., Gloria Hoover, Steve (Bobbie) Mills, Diana Crayne, Betty Moore, Penny Tippet, Robert Mills, and Mary Potter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; mother, Eileen (Inman) Phillips; step father, Jimmie Smith; brother, Dave Mills; and sister, Lula Minor.
