Board To Make Decision On Major MCHS Upgrades

The future of Mercer County High School in Aledo is being evaluated and WRMJ news attended a special facility meeting Wednesday night. The district is looking at anywhere between 13 and 29 classrooms, with estimated costs between $15 and $20 million. Superintendent Scott Petrie spoke with WRMJ.

The board needs to make a decision on which phases they will pursue in order to line up financing and start a request for bids on the project.

Phase one would not impact taxpayers, but if all three phases are approved there may have to be a property tax increase.
