A hit and run crash along Illinois Route 94 in Mercer County leads to multiple charges against a Seaton man. According to a media release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred on Saturday. The suspect vehicle eventually landed in a ditch.
After an investigation, Laine Dexter was arrested. Deputies charged him with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal damage to property, resisting a peace officer, aggravated battery to a peace officer, threatening a public official, and escape.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Keithsburg Police Department, Aledo Police Department, Seaton Fire Department, Alexis/North Henderson Ambulance, and New Boston Ambulance.
