Week 9: Golden Eagles, Rockets Continue Rolls, Orion Breaks Losing Streak, Sherrard Falls

Mercer County (6-3, 5-2 LLC Big) extended its winning streak to four with a 44-32 win over West Hancock (1-8, 1-6 LLC Big) Friday. Golden Eagles quarterback Colby Cox was 9-18 passing for 137 yards and three touchdowns. He carried the ball seven times for 116 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Rockridge (8-1, 6-0 TRAC West) won the TRAC West outright for the second consecutive year by defeating Erie-Prophetstown (3-6, 3-3 TRAC West), 41-6, Friday. Rockridge quarterback Cullen Schwigen went 11-20 passing for 139 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Orion (3-6, 1-5 TRAC West) snapped its six game losing streak with a 55-12 win over Riverdale (0-9, 0-6 TRAC West) Friday.

Sherrard (3-6, 2-4 TRAC West) ended its season with a 34-18 loss to Monmouth-Roseville (5-4, 4-2 TRAC West) Friday.
