Curtis Lee Weeks, 70 of Blue Grass, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Visitation is 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. The Funeral Service will directly follow the visitation at noon. Curtis was born to Robert and Marion (Watson) Weeks on December 10, 1952, in Aledo, IL. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1971 and from Blackhawk East College in 1973. He married Susan Timmons July 1972 and later Carol “Connie” Burkhart August 2011.
Curtis worked his entire life in agriculture. He grew up farming with his dad and later worked in the fertilizer and seed business. After retirement, he continued working in agriculture part-time for Bayer in claims settlement and had his own handyman business. Curtis enjoyed working with and having fun with his customers.
Curtis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was very proud of his two children and two grandsons.
Curtis took great pride in his yard and house and especially his John Deere tractor, Buddy. When not working in the yard or tinkering in his garage, Curtis liked to spend time dancing and laughing with his special group of friends.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Carol (Connie); daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Craig Slaughter, St. Charles, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Trisha Weeks, Blue Grass, IA; grandsons Ethan Slaughter (Lucas), O’Fallon, MO, and Noah Slaughter, St. Charles, MO; step-children, Joe (Susie) Burkhart, Lisa Livingston, and Steven Burkhart; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Buck Davison and Karen and Gary Cloe, all of Geneseo, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sue Weeks, Aledo; several nieces and nephews; and his “That’s Amore” group of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marion Weeks.
