The Mercer County School District Board of Education will decide on an invitation from the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) Wednesday.
Mercer County has competed in the Lincoln Trail Conference since the Aledo and Westmer school districts consolidated in 2009. The TRAC includes Mercer County’s neighboring school districts Rockridge, Sherrard, Monmouth-Roseville, and Orion.
Earlier this month, WRMJ reported the proposed divisions in the conference, should Mercer County join.
WRMJ talked with Mercer County High School Principal Andrea Cooper and new Athletic Director Dustin Murray about the TRAC invitation in early April.
The TRAC invitation is listed as an action item on Wednesday’s school board agenda.
Cooper said the district’s administration will give a recommendation before the board votes. The meeting begins Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., in the Mercer County Junior High music room.
