Mercer County (8-1) defeated Alleman 5-2 Wednesday in softball. The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning and added three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-0 lead. Alleman scored twice in the top of the seventh inning.
Gabriella McPeek, Natalie Thomson and Maddy Campbell-Baker each collected two hits. Elsie Cook was the winning pitcher, allowing two earned runs on seven hits in seven innings.
