Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch remains hopeful that a housing development can get off the ground. But rising interest rates and a post-covid economy have stalled the Sponsler Manor, Third Addition in the northeast section of town.
The city approved an agreement in April of 2021, committing to install gas, water, and sewer mains to help spur the development. The proposed housing development involves a total of 43 lots spread out over three phases. As part of the development agreement, the city assumed ownership of Sponsler Lake.
