Swanson Critical Of Governor’s Handling Of Deadly COVID Outbreak At LaSalle Veterans Home

Local State Rep. Dan Swanson expressing outrage following the release of an independent report on the deadly COVID-19 outbreak at the LaSalle Veterans Home. The 50-page analysis of the outbreak that killed 36 residents found a lack of communication and staff training and no solid plan for dealing with the virus at the facility.

Governor J.B. Pritzker said Friday that the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs new acting director Terry Prince will lead the charge in turning things around and that several recommended changes have already been made. Prince is a 31-year Navy veteran with experience in military and veterans’ medical care.
