Rockridge held the potent Fieldcrest offense at bay but could not generate the scoring needed as the Rockets fell to the Knights 52-41 in the Class 2A Princeton Sectional semi-final Tuesday night. Rockridge trailed 20-18 at the half but Fieldcrest opened up a 34-25 lead after three. The Rockets quickly cut the lead to four but could not get the big shots to fall down the stretch as the Knights made their free throws to hold them off. Jenson Whiteman lead Rockridge with 17 points. Fieldcrest was paced by Jaxon Cusac-McKay with 20. Rockridge closes out the season at 27-6 while Fieldcrest improved to 27-6 and will meet Sterling Newman (28-5) a 65-53 winner over El Paso-Gridley in the other semi-final, in Friday’s championship game.
