Iowa and Illinois are under a Regional Emergency Declaration for a propane shortage. Reports say both states are now allowed to transport propane to heat homes and to dry grain. Blick and Blick Oil’s Roger Maynard says there really isn’t a shortage of propane per say but more of a distribution problem.
Maynard says that during the month of October three times as much propane was needed to heat homes and dry grain than last year. Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and South Dakota are also included in this declaration.
