After six months of touring existing warehouse buildings and available lots across Wisconsin, Munson Hybrids announced the purchase of a partially constructed building in Necedah, Wisconsin. This facility will fulfill the Munson desire of a Wisconsin warehouse distribution center to better serve both Illinois and Iowa customers as well as Wisconsin and Minnesota customers.
The Wisconsin location will take pressure off the Galesburg, Illinois location as Munson Hybrids continues to experience growth across its footprint. The existing building is unfinished and in need of a little “TLC” but offered the potential to build out to specifically meet the needs of a seed company. In addition, there is sufficient area around the building for additional square footage in the future. Altmann Construction, out of Wisconsin Rapids, has been tapped to complete the build-out to Munson specifications. The building will contain offices, maintenance facilities and plenty of warehouse space. Initially the facility will employ 1 full-time and up to 10 seasonal employees. Munson Hybrids expects the facility renovations to be completed for a grand opening on December 1, 2017.
“Holly and I were very impressed with the Necedah village board. Working with them on the sale of this building created a win-win for the village, surrounding community as well as Munson Hybrids. We are looking forward to becoming a part of the Necedah community and helping augment the beauty and industriousness of the area,” said John Hennenfent, CEO & President of Munson Hybrids. “Our slogan is “Performance is Personal” and this new warehouse distribution center means our performance will be improved for our customers with a better flow of seed into and out of both our Illinois and Wisconsin facilities.”
