As a Mercer County woman awaits trial in a meth case, a plea date has been scheduled for her attorney charged in a separate controlled substance case in Rock Island County. 45 year old John G. Steckel of Rock Island is facing Class 1 and Class 4 felony counts accusing him of representing a client in exchange for Adderall. He was arrested in February in the Quad Cities and is free on $50,000 bond. A court date is set for May 4th. Steckel is representing 25 year old Erica Sandusky of Matherville in Mercer County. She is awaiting trial on Class X, Class 1 and Class 4 felony methamphetamine counts.
