The Mercer County Honor Marker program has reached its fundraising goal of $90,000, all privately donated. The project is nearing completion. The effort involves decorating the gravesites of veterans with special honor markers says Jay Doherty with American Legion Post 121.
In addition to finishing up the Aledo Cemetery, the two other cemeteries that remain in Mercer County are Preemption and North Henderson. The project started in 2016.
