Henderson County Health Dept. Gets Attention At Congressional Hearing; Challenges Delivering Vaccine In Rural Illinois

The challenges of delivering the vaccine in rural Illinois highlighted this week at a virtual congressional hearing. Henderson County was used as an example.

That testimony from Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos at a Wednesday hearing of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services. She says in rural Illinois, one in four people do not have access to high-speed internet. Bustos is supporting the Moving Forward Act, a funding package and an infrastructure bill that includes nearly $1 billion for rural broadband. Last month, the Congresswoman was appointed to the House Task Force on Rural Broadband.
