The Mercer County Health Department announced Wednesday that there will be a new procedure for the March Clinic scheduling with the prioritization of the 65 and older population in Phase 1b. Due to the uncertain amounts of vaccine being received, the Health Department will begin taking names and creating a list of Mercer County residents who are 65 and older and would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in the following manner:
· Phone registration for the list will begin on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 9 a.m.
· You will need to provide your legal name, phone number and date of birth.
· You will be able to only register 2 individuals at the time of the call.
· Once vaccine has been received at the Health Department, staff will call you to schedule your vaccine appointment.
· The following are the lines that a call will come from: 582-3759, 582-3761, 582-3762, 574-3264, 574-3265 or 574-3266. Please answer a call coming from one of these lines as it will be a scheduler from the Health Department.
· The department will not leave a message if you do not answer. They will continue down the list until all slots are filled for the weekly clinic. They will begin at the top of the list each week until they fill slots for that week’s vaccine amount received.

“Due to the uncertainty of the amount of vaccine we will receive each week, we see the need to tighten in the Phase 1b group to the 65+ population. We still have a large number of that high-risk population to vaccinate and want to do so as quickly as possible.” states Carla Ewing, Administrator, “We hope by having a list to draw from that this will reduce the anxiety we are sensing from this group.”
