The Aledo City Council will be taking up a matter involving the former Aledo Junior High property next week. The owner of the property, Jennievee Maynard, is seeking a zoning change from R-2 Residential District to B-2 Commercial District to allow for a wood shop in the cafeteria portion of the building. The Aledo Zoning Board turned down the petition earlier this month and the city council will act on the recommendation Monday night.
