If COVID-19 numbers don’t spike, Governor J.B. Pritzker says regions of Illinois may be able to lift some mitigations come Jan. 15. The state didn’t see a big increase in cases after Thanksgiving, and the Governor says they are hopeful that trend will hold now that Christmas and New Year’s have passed.
The metrics include a test positivity rate of 12-percent or less for at least three days in a row. Mercer County is in region 2, which has been under 12-percent for 11 consecutive days, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
