All eyes continue to be on the calendar as high school sports remain on hold. When will play resume? That’s still a significant question as the IHSA was hoping to meet with reps from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Governor’s office last month, but that did not happen. IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson says modifications or cancelations of seasons are on the table as the IHSA board meets next week.
The IHSA board convenes Wednesday, Jan. 13.
The winter sports season was scheduled to start on Nov. 16, the spring season Feb. 15 and the summer season April 19 when the IHSA announced the modified calendar last July. High school sports have been on hold since November.
