The Mercer County School Board approves adding junior high softball effective next school year. The action was taken Wednesday night. Parent Chad Cook originally brought up the idea last October.
According to the IESA calendar, junior high softball practice can begin July 27, games can start August 5 and the IESA state softball finals are held September 25 and 26.
Also Wednesday night, the Unit 404 approved rehiring all fall varsity head coaches–including Andrew Hofer–football, Darrin Clawson-boys golf, Aaron Heartt-girls golf, Pete Nelson-cross country and Erica Biddle-volleyball.
