Law abiding citizens who hold an Illinois Firearm Owners Identification card would be able to display an electronic version of that card on their phone or other electronic device under legislation sponsored by local State Senator Neil Anderson.
The Andalusia Republican says an electronic FOID card would enhance security, allowing law enforcement to more easily check the validity and the status of a Firearm Owners Identification Card. The measure has won approval in the Senate and now moves on to the Illinois House.
