Madigan Calls For Utility Rate Cuts In Light Of Tax Reforms

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is demanding that all of the state’s utility companies cut their rates. Under the new tax law, the federal corporate income tax is dropping from 35- to 21-percent. Madigan says that means the cost of doing business for utilities is falling because of the lower taxes and so should their rates. Madigan says her office will work with the Illinois Commerce Commission to get those rate cuts as soon as possible.
