The Mercer County Board has set a truth in taxation hearing for next week. The session is Wednesday, November 1st at 6 p.m. at the Mercer County VFW in Aledo. Those residents interested in providing testimony will be limited to three-minutes. Written testimony may also be provided to the County Clerk’s office. The county board is proposing to levy just over $3,260,000 in corporate and special purpose property taxes in 2018, which represents a 10.55 percent increase over the previous year.
