Former Fyre Lake Golf Club Owner Sentenced To Six Years In Prison

A Quad Cities area developer who scammed investors out of nearly two million-dollars is heading to prison for six years. A federal judge yesterday lectured Todd Raufeisen at his sentencing. The judge said he ‘manipulated, deceived, and stole.’ Prosecutors say Raufeisen operated a Ponzi scheme where he took money from new investors to pay back old investors. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the Rock Island man got away with it for almost six years. He is due to report to prison next month. At one time, Raufeisen was involved with the Fyre Lake Golf Club development.
