2025 Bushels For Hunger Closes Dec. 31

The Bushels for Hunger program, now in its 16th year of area farmers helping local families, is wrapping up this week.

Mercer County Farm Bureau Manager Jenna Preston says farmers can donate bushels of grain, corn, and soybeans at participating elevators until Dec. 31.

Proceeds will benefit River Bend Food Bank and food pantries throughout the Quad City area. Since 2010, area farmers have donated over $346,000 and provided over 1.7 million meals to those in need.

The Bushels for Hunger program is a joint program coordinated by the Mercer, Rock Island, and Henry County Farm Bureaus in conjunction with the following area grain elevators and ethanol plants: Atkinson Grain, Big River Resources, Cargill, CHS, Gold Star FS, Hillsdale Elevator, and River Valley Cooperative.
