The Sherrard High School boys basketball program is gearing up to play in the parks again this summer.
2025 marks the third year of the Tigers’ annual “Summer Park Tour,” which features free community basketball sessions at outdoor parks around the Sherrard School District. The sessions are open to elementary school and junior high-aged boys and girls, with high school players and coaches providing instruction.
It kicked off with a shooting clinic at Sherrard High School on Monday, where more than 40 kids participated.
WRMJ spoke with Sherrard High School boys basketball coach Alex Johnson at the event.
The dates and locations for the Summer Park Tour are June 9 at Matherville Old School Park, June 16 at Sherrard Grade School, and June 23 at New Windsor Water Tower Park. Each session runs from noon to 1 p.m.
