A quarter-century after Dan McGuire’s last year coaching high school football, he will return to the sidelines to lead the Sherrard High School football program this fall.
McGuire was named the head football coach at Sherrard on Thursday. His career includes a 10-year run as the head coach at Moline from 1991-2000, where he led the Maroons to a 66-32 record. 2000 was the last year he coached high school football.
McGuire joined Sportsline on Saturday and discussed what he’ll have to adjust to as he returns to coaching.

McGuire has also been an assistant coach at Fulton, Althoff, Rock Island, Alleman and Moline in his career.
