Rockridge (25-4) won their seventh regional championship since 2013 with a 41-25 win over Sherrard (17-11) in the IHSA 2A Rockridge Regional Friday. Jase Whiteman scored a game-high 14 points. Carson Klemme was also in double figures with 10. Holland Anderson led Sherrard with 9 points.
The Rockets advance to the IHSA 2A Orion Sectional, where they will play the winner of Byron and Rock Falls Wednesday night.
Princeton (31-2) advanced to the Orion Sectional by defeating Stillman Valley 68-37 to win the Bureau Valley Regional Friday. The Tigers will play the winner of Erie-Prophetstown and Riverdale Tuesday night in Orion.
