The Sherrard Tigers advanced the the Class 2A Volleyball Regional championship match with a victory over Rockridge Tuesday night. The two TRAC rivals split their regular season match ups. Sherrard won in straight games 25-18, 25-22. The win was Sherrard’s 32nd of the season, tying the 1989 team, which finished fourth at state, for the most victories in a season. Rockridge closed out the year at 24-6-3, also a record for victories for the Rockets. Sherrard will meet Macomb Thursday night in the title match. The Bombers ended Mercer County’s season with a 25-21, 25-9 win. Macomb improved their record to 31-5 while the Golden Eagles end the year at 15-11.
In Class 1A regional play, United advanced to the semi-finals at West Prairie with a 25-16, 25-27 win over Bushnell-Prairie City.
