Sullivan Remains On Paid Leave; Court Case Continued To April

A pre-trial conference has been continued to this spring for Aledo Police Chief and City Administrator Chris Sullivan. He’s facing felony official misconduct and misdemeanor battery charges. A short pre-trial was held via a Zoom call Tuesday afternoon with the matter continued to April 3. The defense asked for the delay.

Sullivan was charged in late August following an Illinois State Police investigation involving the allegation “of a battery having been reportedly committed by Sullivan, in his capacity as Aledo Police Chief while conducting an arrest.” He posted ten percent of his $10,000 bond shortly after his arrest in late August.

A special prosecutor from Henry County is handling the case.

Sullivan remains on paid leave by the city. His annual gross salary is $92,335.

Mayor Chris Hagloch indicated last month that the city will be splitting the city administrator and police chief positions. The plan is to hire a new city administrator sometime this year.
