Sherrard High School is again searching for a varsity softball coach. Rick Bertelsen has resigned after just one season. Sherrard superintendent Alan Boucher confirmed the resignation with WRMJ this morning. Bertelsen replaced his daughter, former United High School pitching standout Katie Bertelsen, who spent one season as head coach of the Tigers in 2018. She replaced Mike DeLoose. The elder Bertelsen’s resignation means Sherrard will have four different head softball coaches in four years, entering the 2020 season.
