Sherrard and Orion split on the day in Three Rivers Athletic Conference baseball and softball Thursday. In baseball, Chance Stropes blanked the Tigers 3-0 allowing just three hits. Elsewhere in conference play, Riverdale handled Rockridge 10-2 and Erie-Prophetstown doubled up on Monmouth-Roseville 8-4. Abingdon-Avon stayed unbeaten on the season with a 7-0 win over Princeville in the Lincoln Trail.
In softball, Sherrard hammered out a 19-1 win over the Chargers. Ashley Russell and McKenna Blackwell each had two hits and four rbi. Erie-Prophetstown blanked Monmouth-Roseville 16-0. West Central shut out United 15-0 and Abingdon-Avon white-washed Stark County 9-0.
In track, the Mercer County boys took a five-team meet at Princeville. The Golden Eagles had 86 points, Princeville 81, Sherrard 67, Henry 17, and Abingdon-Avon 2.
In soccer, Orion-Sherrard stopped Sterling 1-0.
