Sherrard avenged a loss from earlier in the week and beat Mercer County 3-1 in softball at home on Thursday.
The Tigers (8-7, 3-3 TRAC West) broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-out, two RBI triple by Tessa Driessens. Alexis Essary drove in a run in the bottom of the first inning to open the scoring.
Alivia Gillespie drove in the only run of the day for Mercer County (7-7, 2-4 TRAC West).
Makensie Westfall allowed just four hits and one run in seven innings with five strikeouts to earn the win in the pitcher’s circle.
Elsie Cook took the loss for the Golden Eagles, giving up three runs in four innings.
