The Apollo Softball Diamond home dugout is being named in honor of longtime local softball coach Daryl Bewley, who had coaching stints at Aledo and Mercer County High Schools and also offered countless hours of instruction to local youth. Apollo Elementary art teacher and assistant softball coach Hannah Baker crafted a handmade sign honoring Coach Bewley. The sign will officially be dedicated during the next high school softball season. Bewley is currently hospitalized battling health issues. WRMJ Sports Director Jim Taylor spoke with Coach Baker following an IESA regional game at the Apollo diamond Monday evening.
