Conference championships were decided in three spring sports in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) on Thursday.
In baseball, Rockridge clinched the outright TRAC West championship with a 6-0 win over Orion.
Carsen DeKeyrel threw a complete-game shutout to lead the Rockets (20-5, 9-0 TRAC West). He allowed three hits and struck out 10 batters in seven innings.
Rockridge scored two runs in the bottom of the third, fourth, and sixth innings.
Dayne Franks took the loss on the mound for the Chargers (13-8, 7-2 TRAC West) after giving up six runs in 5.1 innings.
In softball, Riverdale beat Mercer County twice by scores of 4-0 and 4-3 to win the outright TRAC West title.
Brooklyn Peterson hit two home runs on the day, including a walk-off homer in the second game, to lift the Rams (21-1, 9-1 TRAC West) to their second straight conference championship. Peterson broke the single-season home run record at Riverdale with 19.
In girls track and field, Sherrard dominated the conference meet in the TRAC to claim the program’s sixth consecutive conference title.
The Tigers scored 127 points, finishing 29 points ahead of second-place Mercer County, 98. Sherrard took first place in the 800 (Anna Churchill), 4×400 (Cami Anderson, Aliza Dominique, Sophia Bradarich, Churchill), discus (Saidie Shemek), and pole vault (Dominique).
Mercer County also crowned four conference event champions – 100 and 300-meter hurdles (Alayna Mitchell), 3200 (Emalyn Millar), 4×800 (Millar, Brookelyn Clark, Jorgi Arnold, Helen Baldwin).
