Rockridge (26-6) returned to the Sweet 16 with a 31-28 win over Peoria Notre Dame (14-18) in the semifinals of the IHSA 2A Canton Sectional Tuesday.
The Rockets trailed 21-17 at the end of the third quarter but outscored the Irish 14-7 in the fourth to rally for the win.
Landon Bull scored a game-high 11 points for Rockridge in the win. Rocket senior Carson Klemme guarded Notre Dame’s Eoin Dillon, who is a Division-I signee with Belmont University, and held him to just four points. All four of Dillon’s points came in the first quarter.
The Rockets will play for a third consecutive sectional championship Friday against either Manual (20-11) or Macomb (26-5). The Rams and Bombers play in the second semifinal of the Canton Sectional Wednesday at 6 p.m. Pregame coverage starts at 5:30 p.m., on WRMJ.
