Riverdale (25-10-1) defeated Peoria Notre Dame (24-13) in three sets to win a sectional championship on its home floor on Thursday night.
The Rams took the match 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, to claim the 2A Riverdale Sectional title.
Riverdale head coach Amy Mitton and an assistant were ejected at the end of the first set, but Riverdale was able to rally to win the second and third sets to advance to Monday’s super-sectional in Mendota.
The Rams will play for a trip to the state finals against Chicago Christian (29-10) after the Knights beat Pontiac 17-25, 25-23, 25-17.
At the 1A Abingdon-Avon Sectional, Orion (23-16) fell in the championship to Tremont (22-17) in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18.
