Ridgewood Holds On, Defeats Sherrard To Move To 20-0

Ridgewood (20-0, 14-0 LTC) survived a late rally from Sherrard (16-6, 7-1 TRAC West) to remain unbeaten in softball with a 3-2 win Wednesday.

The Spartans led 3-0 entering the bottom of the seventh inning. Sherrard scored a pair of runs to bring the game within a run. After a Danni Neppl two-out double, the Tigers had the tying run at second base with two outs. Mya Brown made a diving play in center field to record the final out and keep Sherrard from tying the game.

Brown (13-0) was the winning pitcher. She went 6.2 IP and gave up two runs on six hits, while striking out five batters.

Mackenzie Peck led the Spartans at the plate, going 3-3 with 3 RBI.

Kaylee Faccio was 2-3 with an RBI at the plate for Tigers.

Savanah Hauger (10-3) took the loss in the pitchers circle for Sherrard. She allowed three runs in five innings.
