Richard Eugene was born on August 10, 1944, in Spokane, Washington, to Irvin and Gladys (Thomas) Sage. He married Linda Anderson on June 30, 1963, at the Aledo First Baptist Church.

Dick worked for JI Case, retiring as a Crane Operator. Dick loved to antique. He and Linda were always up to going anywhere the road took them to look for antiques. They especially enjoyed their fall trips to Door County. Dick’s favorites were radios and pocket watches. Dick belonged to ARCI (Antique Radio Club of Illinois). He loved to tinker with old radios and go to shows to sell them, but often came home with more than he took to sell, as he was always looking to improve his collection. Dick also enjoyed golfing and cheering on the Chicago Bears and White Sox.

Those left to cherish Dick’s memory include his wife, Linda; children, Kathy and Richard Scott of Fort Madison and Richard “Rick” Sage, Jr., of Bloomington; grandchildren, Danielle and Ted Jensen, Cody Scott, Patrick Hasting, Lizzie and Quinton Evans, Melissa Sage, and Lexi Sage; and great-grandchildren, Lilly Hasting, Eian and Sage Evans, and two lovingly expected. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley Hasting; great-granddaughter, Lillah Hasting; siblings, Nancy Wheeler, Sharon Bishop, Diane Chewing, Cindy Brandt, Linda Sage, Donna Becker, and Alan Sage; daughter in law, Marie Sage; and his beloved Terrier, Buddy.
