Residential Burglary In Rural Taylor Ridge; Deputy’s Gun Discharged During Struggle With Suspect

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department responds to a residential burglary in rural Taylor Ridge. Two individuals fled the scene Friday afternoon on foot with a female suspect chased down by a deputy and resisted arrest. During the struggle she attempted to disarm the officer causing a single shot to be fired from a duty weapon. No one was injured. The female suspect is now in custody at the Rock Island County Jail charged with residential burglary and attempting to disarm a peace officer. A male suspect remains at large.
