Starting Wednesday, voters who want to vote by mail will be able to register to receive their ballots for each election.
The old process required those who wanted to vote by mail to ask for a ballot to be sent each time.
Illinois lawmakers passed a measure that sets up the permanent registration process.
In Mercer County, residents will need to contact Mercer County Clerk Sara Blaser.
Again, you must wait until August 10th before making the request.
