The Rock Island County Fair 4-H Livestock Auction set a new record Friday as 62 4-Hers sold their animals. The auction raised $40,325.
The grand champion steer shown by Macy Hoag went for $1100 and was purchased by Shike Cattle. The grand champion market Ewe show by Levi Junis went for $600 and was purchased by State Representative Dan Swanson. The grand champion market Wether shown by Isaac Bull went for $600 to Derrer Farms. The grand champion market Gilt shown by Olivia Freyermuth went for $700 and was purchased by Nutrien Ag Solutions of New Boston. The grand champion market Barrow was show by Alex Edmondson went for $2500 and was purchased by BR Delivery, Calmer Corn Heads and Red Ruff Inn Dog Boarding Kennel.
The grand champion Dairy Heifer shown by Abby Yoder went for $400 and was purchase by Dale Jones with Merit Auctions. The grand champion Dairy Cow shown by Cassie Bohnert went for $1100 and was purchased by Sexton Ford, Compeer Financial and First Defense. The grand champion Meat Goat shown by Ashlyn Hazelett (Has-let) went for $300 and was purchased by Compeer Financial. The grand champion Dairy Goat was shown by Kinley Fuhr (for) went for $2500 and was purchased by Nutrien Ag Solutions in New Boston.
