Princeton (32-2) cruised to a win the semifinals of the IHSA 2A Orion Sectional against Riverdale (17-18) 77-40 Tuesday. The Tigers scored 29 points in the first quarter and led 43-23 at halftime. Princeton had eight dunks in the game, with seven coming in the first half.
Noah LaPorte scored a game-high 19 points for Princeton. Grady Thompson and Teegan Davis both had 17. Kolten Monroe was also in double figures for the Tigers with 12.
Princeton set a new school record for single-season wins with their 32nd.
The Tigers will play the winner of Rockridge and Rock Falls for the sectional championship Friday. Rockridge and Rock Falls tip-off at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on WRMJ.
