Preemption Shooting Labeled Homicide/Suicide

A shooting in Preemption that resulted in the death of two people last week has been labeled a homicide/suicide. Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill says evidence in the investigation is leading to that finding.  The preliminary autopsy reports state the preliminary opinion of the Forensic Pathologist was that both subjects cause of death were single gunshot wounds. The official manner and cause of death will be determined by Mercer County Coroner Greg Larson, which will be released after the investigation is complete. Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call last Wednesday afternoon. When officers arrived, they found two subjects with apparent gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene by Larson and later identified as 62 year old Myra Long and 65 year old Richard “Steve” Reams.
