An October 18 preliminary hearing has been set for a Sherrard woman facing animal cruelty and unlawful communication with a witness charges. 59-year-old Karen Plambeck appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Tuesday morning where she pleaded not guilty to the six felony counts.
In August, she was charged with the animal cruelty offenses following an investigation that involved the recovery of 198 dogs. And last week the unlawful communication with a witness charge was leveled against her. She posted ten-percent, $25,000 bond in the animal cruelty case and has also since posted ten-percent, $35,000 bond in the witness communication case.
