Peoria Diocese Will Not Proceed With Western Illinois Catholic High School At This Time

The Catholic Post reporting that the Diocese of Peoria will not proceed with a Catholic high school in western Illinois at this time. A feasibility study determined that enrollment and funding were major areas of concern.  However, Bishop Daniel Jenky indicated that if a major donor steps forward the issue could be brought to the forefront again. The study evaluated locating a school in Knox, Warren, McDonough and Henderson counties with the projected start-up cost at between $900,000 and $1.1 million.
